The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, strongly condemns the stabbing of a Muslim man in the U.S. state of Utah, where the victim sustained 15 stab wounds inside a shopping center. Authorities have indicated that the attack was motivated by religious hatred and the victim’s Muslim faith, after the suspect reportedly expressed a desire to kill all Muslims.

The Muslim Council of Elders affirms that this criminal attack reflects the growing dangers of Islamophobia, hate speech, and extremism, and the violence they can incite against innocent people solely because of their religion. The Council stresses the urgent need for serious international action to combat this phenomenon, eliminate the root causes of hatred, and promote dialogue, mutual respect, and coexistence.

The Council reiterates its categorical rejection of all forms of hatred, discrimination, violence, and incitement based on religion, race, or belief. It also emphasizes the importance of fostering mutual respect and promoting the values of human fraternity as a means of confronting intolerance and hatred and strengthening social peace.

The Council also expresses its solidarity with the victim and his family, and wishes him a speedy recovery, while underscoring the importance of holding perpetrators of hate crimes accountable under the law and taking effective measures to prevent such attacks from recurring.

The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, expresses solidarity with the People’s Republic of Bangladesh following the devastating floods caused by heavy rainfall, which have resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries and caused extensive material damage.

The Muslim Council of Elders extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of Bangladesh over this tragic loss. The Council prays to Almighty Allah to grant the injured a swift and complete recovery.

The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, extends its sincere condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, as well as to the Qatari ruling family, the government and people of Qatar, on the passing of the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away at the age of 74.

The late Father Emir leaves behind a distinguished legacy of service and achievement where he played a pivotal role in Qatar’s development and contributed significantly to strengthening its regional and international standing, while steadfastly supporting the causes of the Arab and Muslim worlds.

May Allah envelop the Father Emir in His vast mercy, grant him a place in His eternal Paradise, and bestow patience and comfort upon his family and the people of Qatar.

Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.

The Council reaffirms its categorical rejection of such heinous terrorist acts, which are contrary to the teachings of Islam, all divine religions, and international conventions and norms. It also reiterates its firm stance against all forms of violence and terrorism that seek to spread fear among innocent people and undermine security and stability.

The Muslim Council of Elders extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of the Syrian Arab Republic, praying that Almighty Allah grants the injured a swift recovery.

The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence the Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, strongly condemns the renewed Iranian aggressive attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait with missiles and drones.

The Council of Muslim Elders reaffirms its categorical rejection of such aggressive attacks, which represent a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, and a threat to the security and stability of the region.

The Council of Muslim Elders also affirms its full support for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait for all measures they take to preserve their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, extends sincere solidarity with the Republic of Venezuela following the two earthquakes that struck the country, resulting in a number of casualties and injuries, as well as significant material damage.

The Muslim Council of Elders calls on the international community to strengthen solidarity and humanitarian cooperation to support relief and rescue efforts, assist the affected, and accelerate the search for those missing, in a way that reflects the values of cooperation and solidarity in the face of disasters and crises.

The Council also extends its deepest condolences to the Republic of Venezuela and to the families of the victims, praying that Almighty Allah grants a speedy recovery to the injured, returns the missing safely, and alleviates the impact of this tragic disaster.

The Council calls for decisive action against violent and terrorist groups that seek to wreak havoc and undermine security and stability. It also emphasizes the importance of strengthening efforts to counter hate speech, confront extremist ideologies, and promote the values of dialogue, tolerance, coexistence, and peace.

The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, strongly condemns the Iranian attacks targeting the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain which included missile and drone strikes on Kuwait International Airport, resulting in significant material damage to the passenger terminal, the death of one individual, and injuries to several others, in addition to damage to vital facilities, including diplomatic missions. The Council also condemns the attacks carried out against the Kingdom of Bahrain using missiles and drones.

The Council affirms its unequivocal rejection of such terrorist acts, which constitute a clear violation of international law, a flagrant breach of state sovereignty, and a direct threat to national security, stability, and the safety of civilians. It further stresses that targeting diplomatic missions is a criminal act that is explicitly prohibited and condemned under international law and established diplomatic norms.

The Muslim Council of Elders expresses its utmost solidarity with the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain and reiterates its support for all measures taken by both nations to safeguard their security, stability, and the safety of their citizens and residents. The Council also calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities in putting an end to these ongoing attacks, in order to preserve regional security and stability, uphold state sovereignty, and protect the safety of their peoples.

The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, strongly condemns the storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque by settlers under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, and the raising of the occupation flag within its precincts.

The Council reiterates its categorical rejection of such extremist and provocative violations, and of all actions and attempts aimed at altering the established religious, historical, and legal status of the city of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Council stresses that Al-Aqsa Mosque — in its entirety, encompassing an area of 144 dunams — is a place of worship exclusively and solely for Muslims.

The Council further calls upon the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities toward Islamic holy sites, and to take immediate and decisive measures to bring an end to the repeated violations against the city of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. It warns that the continued perpetuation of these systematic violations carries grave consequences for security and stability across the region.

The Muslim Council of Elders renews its call for urgent and concerted action to achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, to end the suffering of the Palestinian people — which has persisted for more than seven decades — and to affirm their legitimate right to establish an independent state with Holy Jerusalem as its capital.
