Dr. Al-Ali added that faith, as stated in the preamble of the Document, compels its followers to “regard others as their brothers and support and love them,” and that it also urges its adherents “to express this human Fraternity by caring for creation and the entire universe, and by extending assistance to every human being.” He explained that the Document on Human Fraternity, which inspired the recognition of the 4th of February as the ‘International Day of Human Fraternity’, has become a great cause for celebration among all lovers of goodness and peace around the world.

Dr. Al-Ali highlighted the calls by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, to invest into transforming interfaith dialogue into a practical reality that contributes to addressing the challenges of our contemporary world, including climate change through the Document on Human Fraternity. He emphasized that human fraternity represents a global call for dialogue and solidarity among all people, which is the only way to achieve the peace and prosperity sought by all nations.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali concluded the seminar by affirming that the TRENDS Center for Research and Advisory has been at the forefront of intellectual institutions that has placed a great emphasis on the Document on Human Fraternity. The center currently has a research program titled ‘Tolerance and Coexistence’ which publishes in-depth research papers and studies in both Arabic and English that address the values of tolerance, coexistence, and cultural interaction.
